Just so you know, we'll probably suggest the north, our favorite part,  usually also the favorite part for people who do the full trip in Catalunya's Pyrenees.   We'll probably also suggest that you not rent a car - just meet in Barcelona or Girona and move around using a combination of trains and an occasional local taxi.
