| If Puente has to cancel a trip due to sign-up under the
minimum of six people, you will be notified by E-mail or telefax at least 30 days from
trip departure. Puente further reserves
the right to cancel any trips due to acts of nature or other circumstances outside our
control that would substantially alter the planned route; in this case you will be
notified by E-mail or telefax as soon as reasonably possible. In both cases you may either select another trip
or accept the return of all funds received in payment for the original trip; no further
claims will be allowed in these cases. Puente is not responsible for additional trip
expenses such as non-refundable advance purchase airline tickets, medical expenses or
special gear. No discounts or refunds will be made for
arriving late, leaving early or for bringing your own bicycle or other equipment included
in trip price. No exceptions can be made to above cancellation policies for any reason whatsoever. Cancellation insurance is recommended to prevent unnecessary loss in the event of a serious illness or death of the participant, travelling companions or travelers immediate family before or during the trip. ITINERARY VARIATIONS: Puente reserves the right to alter the planned
route for the comfort and safety of Puente clients. Changes may be made in the route due
to circumstances that take place between printing the catalogue and reserving a trip, or
even between reservation and trip departure. In the first case you will be notified before
reserving, in the second case, if it is reasonably possible, you will be notified before
trip departure. In interest of group safety, the leader may alter planned routes due to adverse climatic conditions or other serious reasons during the trip itself. If feasible, the leader will ask for group opinion but the leaders decision is final in these situations. INFORMATION PACKAGES:
A pre-trip planning package will be sent upon receipt of
your deposit, including a list of suggested
clothing, information on climate, currency and suggestions for hotels for before and after
the trip. One month before trip departure you
will receive information on meeting point and mass transit in arrival city, as well as a
more detailed trip itinerary. ACCOMMODATIONS: Accommodations
are usually double rooms with a private bath. Variations
on this policy are more frequent on Adventure trips or Hiking trips, where more
economic accommodations and some mountain shelters will be used. If you are travelling with someone, please
indicate on your reservation form whether you prefer twin beds or a double bed. We will
try to fulfill your request but this depends on hotel rooms available and it may not be
possible every night of your trip. If you are
travelling alone and prefer a single room, the single supplement will apply (ask for
details on each trip); please note that single rooms may not be available every night of
the trip. If you are travelling alone and wish
to share a room with another traveller of the same sex, we will try to match you with a
roommate. If no roommate is available, a
reduced single supplement will apply. ELIGIBILITY: Puente
travellers must be at least 21 years old before trip departure. When accompanied by a
parent, minimum age is 16. SPECIAL NEEDS: If you have
special dietary needs, please let us know on your reservation form. With advance notice (minimum 3 weeks)
most needs can be fulfilled. If you have very strict dietary requirements, please let us
know before reservations are made. |

| FITNESS
AND MEDICAL: Most
PUENTE trips can be enjoyed any moderately active adult. Nevertheless a little pre-trip
conditioning will make any trip much more enjoyable. Travellers with medical problems must notify Puente
when reservations are made. Even if no previous condition is known, if a traveller is
sedentary or over 60 a medical checkup before the trip is highly recommended, especially
for the more challenging trips. The trip leader may disqualify any traveller who is, in the leaders opinion, unable to continue without risking his/her heath or the safety and well-being of the group. No refunds will be made in this situation. |
